SYNOPSIS
Newtopia is an intense and emotional drama set against the backdrop of a crumbling world overrun by zombies. The story follows Lee Jae-Yoon (Park Jeong-Min), a soldier, and his girlfriend Kang Young-Joo (Kim Ji-Soo), who are thrust into a battle for survival after being on the verge of a breakup. Set in an air defense unit housed within a high-rise building in Seoul, the series captures their desperate fight against the undead while also exploring their emotional journey toward reconciliation.
Jae-Yoon, who enlisted in the military at the age of 26, sought a more stable future by serving in the defense industry. Feeling anxious and uncertain about his future, he becomes increasingly fixated on his relationship with Young-Joo. His insecurity and fear of the unknown lead him to push her away, and just as the two are about to break up, an unimaginable crisis strikes. A sudden, catastrophic outbreak of an unknown virus turns people into mindless, flesh-hungry zombies. Jae-Yoon, once weak and lacking in self-confidence, is forced to step up in the face of the apocalypse.
